“When it [the preparing, and eating of food] is done in the name of God, eating is the earthly realization of God’s eternal communion-building love” (Norman Wirzba, in Food and Faith).
On the first Friday of each month we are invited to participate in the eathly and tangible realization of God’s goodness and love through the preparing and serving of dinner for the community of Alberta Avenue at PrayerWorks Common, a program of St. Faith’s Anglican Church, 11725-93 Street.
We have two time slots that you can volunteer for, prep from 1:00pm-5:00pm and service and clean-up from 4:30-7:30pm. You are welcome to volunteer for both, for one, or for whatever time you are available.
These are great service opportunities that provide us with a chance to connect with those who live on the margins of our society.
